In November, 2017, Patrick Widner, Bob and Mary Beth Metcalf attended the International Water Association’s Water and Development Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina to give three papers on the work done in different parts of the world. IWHA had a booth in the big exhibition area, the only booth promoting practical methods for low-income countries. At the booth testing materials and trained attendees tested water samples for the bacteria Escherichia Coli (E-coli). Representatives from 14 of the 23 Argentine provinces participated in the training in addition to representatives from 30 other countries. All participants were given sample test units to take with them back to their own countries. While attending the conference, Patrick and Bob gave three talks. Dozens of delegates learned about water testing with a PML at the IWHA booth. A dozen delegates were given PMLs for immediate use when they returned to their countries.
